Hi, I'm Niamh, a documentary family photographer from Navan, Co. Meath. As a mum of three I know just how fast those first few days and weeks go. One minute you're bringing them home from the hospital, the next they're crawling around the kitchen! A newborn session is my favourite way to slow everything down and capture your new little one just as they are - tiny fingers, sleepy yawns, and all the beautiful chaos of those first days together.

Things new parents often ask me

When should I book?

As early as possible - ideally while you're still pregnant! I can pencil you in for a date around your due date and we'll confirm once baby arrives. The first 5–14 days are a gorgeous window when babies are extra sleepy and curly, but I absolutely photograph older newborns too so don't worry if you've already missed that window.

What if baby won't settle?

Totally normal - and honestly, part of the story! I work slowly and patiently and I'm more than happy to pause for feeds, nappy changes, or cuddles. We'll get there, I promise. Some of my favourite shots ever have come from the unsettled sessions!

Do I need to tidy the house?

Ha - absolutely not! I'm a mum of three, I've seen it all. A lived-in home is a real home, and that's exactly the kind of environment I love to shoot in. I'll naturally frame shots to show your home at its loveliest without you having to do a thing.

Can siblings and partners be included?

Yes - and I'd love that! The Full Family package is designed exactly for this. Those moments between a new baby and a big brother or sister are honestly some of the most beautiful things I get to photograph.

How do I get my photos?

I'll send you a private online gallery link within 3 weeks of your session. From there you can download everything in full resolution, share with family and friends, and print whatever you love.
